An endless bummer A grey abyss. The sun I miss. I hear it shines In lands devine And warms the hearts In far off parts. Ten blocks away A sunny day, While I hug the coast, Where it glooms the most. I wouldn’t mind if it came and went, With wispy tendrils elegant. Instead wet blanket covers all From end of Spring to early Fall. It’s weighed me down since I was young Settled dampness on my tongue. And so I whimper and I moan To those who dare pick up the phone. By Halloween it should be clear, In time for rain that will appear. Then Winter brings the bluest skies And so the Spring keeps spirits high.
