Greener Pastures

In the distance,
Plaintive instance.
Ties unmooring,
Wailing, warring.

Empty echo
Roman, Greco.
Calling danger,
Falling, stranger.

Shoulder low.
Push and tow.
Row to hoe.
Seeds to grow.

Ways to go,
I don’t know.
Honest hope,
Pulling rope,

Puzzle pieces.
Nephews, nieces,
New life leases.
Off you go.

Past can’t measure,
Buried treasure.
Work with pleasure.
Savor leisure.

I should talk,
Squall and squawk.
Once was mine,
Now refined.

Reinvented,
Represented,
Claimed from storage,
Resurrected.

Looking forward,
New hope purpose.
Grass grows green
And greets the surface.
