Through curtains of danger,
The elegant stranger Gusts into the room A king in a manger. Unfurling his wisdom To flocks that would listen. Though houses seemed haunted, This traveler undaunted. Once thriving and yearning, The seasons kept turning. Turning and flipping, The tables kept tipping. The ache in the laughter, A quake of disaster. Like servant to master, Faster and faster. Take it and keep it. Render and reap it. Follow in footsteps, Falling for backflips. What’s left at the altar Convictions won’t falter. The plot and the land A castle in sand. The echo of dreams Sewn together it seems Foundation to beams By benevolent schemes. The wind that blows through Won’t rustle the view. Just shimmers the old And brings in the new. 12/16/20
