Tame the cradle
Gravy ladle Cain and Abel Fractured fable Whine and cackle Hind and hackles Leave your faculties resolved. If quiet rumor’s hush Brings pale cheeks to blush From troubled fountains' gush. Fallow then creeps to lush. Drop a penny at the source. Troubles many without recourse, But in gesture hope springs forth. What once was South may now be North. Warmth and wonder, solid view. Dreaming now of You know Who. Careful not to misconstrue A stagnant feeling once it grew. Sycophantic lovers leap. What they had, they couldn’t keep. Now they’re lying in a heap On predecessor’s pile they sleep. I’ll take what's mine instead, A quiet heart and single bed. No abandonment to dread. Once was hungry, now is fed. 4/27/21
